Resilience is a capacity. Now we know we can build that capacity in individuals, organizations and communities! The construct of resilience is multifaceted, and it has the ability to provide a link between stress and mental illness. By better understanding what makes us resilient, individually and as a society, we can promote those factors and situations to build our shared ability to handle stress and adversity. It also allows us to develop the capacity to deal with the inherent challenges of our complex, fast paced lives, head on.
